I write fiction. Not because the world isn’t interesting enough, but because sometimes fiction is the only honest way to tell the story.

Yes, I’m new here.

But I have been around for a while.

I have simply decided to skip the anticipatory launch teasing and pretense and dive straight into things.

On the other side of my life, I am an internationally recognized business consultant who has worked in web development, website conversion strategies, being a hired gun for high-ticket product launches, straight-up business consulting, and then launching and producing podcasts in areas including entrepreneurship, the paranormal, personal transformation, and more.

Two of the podcast clients are internationally acclaimed fiction novelists. One has an entire program that teaches fiction novelists how to be fiction novelists.

Along the way, I published a “very entertaining while highly prescient” nonfiction business book. At least, somebody used that phrase in telling me what they liked about it. I did receive several high-paying clients and two very notable public speaking opportunities as a direct result of the book. They were probably correct.

That was the twenty-three-year Act One.

Act Two was when I acquired an illness that nearly unalived me and cost me everything.

We are now eleven months later, firmly inside Act Three.

I’m in an “indefinite holding pattern” on cirrhosis – which is excellent – and a business venture that synthesizes all of my experiences and acronymed methodologies into a one-of-a-kind consulting and coaching model is alive and kicking.

During the Intermission between Act Two and Act Three, the phrase “fiction novelist” kept tugging at me. Ever since I was thirteen, I’ve had the aspiration of writing the fictional biography of a Caribbean dictator.

I made several attempts over the years, most of which got set aside by more pressing matters and running out of steam. An attempt I made five years ago somehow read like a Wikipedia article – but it moved the dream forward.

Now, my first fiction novel is in final editing and will come out this autumn.

Adrian Hale Bishop is my authorial pen name. But it’s not a secret. I am Mark Twain to Samuel Clemens. I may be Oscar Wilde to Oscar Wilde. I like both their works.

I invite you to join me on this journey. The discussion about what we’re doing starts now and will quickly unfold here in Between the Scenes.

Until next time… check out The Protector & The Heiress.
